The former superyacht of fugitive Malaysian financier Jho Low is back up for sale, according to a new listing. “Tranquility,” a luxurious 300-foot vessel formerly known as “Equanimity,” and stocked with lavish amenities, which includes a single helicopter helipad, an elevator, a spa wing and a full chef’s kitchen. Tranquility hit the market again late September 2019 with brokers Camper & Nicholsons International

Both sets of the authorities in Malaysia and the U.S.A have accused Jho Low of playing a major part in an international money-laundering scheme that siphoned billions of dollars from a Malaysian government investment fund. The fund was known as 1MDB. The authorities state that Jho Low used “ill-gotten gains” to fund his very lavish lifestyle, which include homes in Los Angeles and New York City, his own private jet and his superyacht, Tranquility.

Since the Malaysian authorities seized the superyacht from Jho Low, it has been up for sale twice (this being the second time). In April 2019, the Malaysian government announced it had sold the superyacht to a large hospitality company called “Genting Group” for US$126 million.

Genting, which operates luxury yacht charters, has since been renting “Tranquility” out to VIP clients at a cost of around €1.1 million (US$1.23 million) per week. VIP clients have included the well known model Kylie Jenner, who posted pictures on social media of herself and guests onboard Tranquility.

Genting is reportedly asking for around $200 million for the vessel, although this was not confirmed at the time of writing.

About Tranquility:

The yacht accommodates 26 guests plus 31 crew. Boat-builder Oceanco originally delivered the superyacht in 2014 and they achieved a number of awards and accolades, including “Finest New Yacht of the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show.”

The interior features polished marble floors and oak finishes. It also features a working transparent piano which resides in the upper saloon, also a formal dining room and a fully equipped gym. The spa includes a sauna, a hammam and experiential showers, a mini plunge pool, a massage room and also a beauty salon. The master suite on the upper deck has two dressing rooms and an office with terrace and plunge pool.
