In our opinion one of the most amazing yacht shows you should have on your ‘to-do list’ has to be the Monaco Yacht Show, which is being held this year over the four days September 23rd– 26th.
This year there will be the biggest fleet of superyachts on record and will perfectly showcase some of the world’s largest and most expensive superyachts you could ever hope to see assembled in one spot.
In 2019 for the Monaco Yacht show we headed with great excitement and anticipation towards the Port Hercules, which is the only deep-water port in Monaco, to take in the opulent display. Now in its 29th year of operation, this is one of the world’s most famous yacht shows that is guaranteed to take your breath away!
Take a look at our gallery of the 2019 yacht show to see some of the 125 superyachts that were on display. If this doesn’t inspire you to book a stay in Monaco for this year’s event then nothing will!
If you are inspired by our gallery of superyachts from the 2019 event, then it would be wise to book early for this year’s event if you don’t want to miss out on the crème de la crème of the international luxury yachting market.
By far the most cost-effective way of staying in Monaco to be able to take in the yacht shows on offer here is to book Air BNB accommodation. There are many places available that are dotted all along the coastline that will give you great access to the seafront and you could quite easily find accommodation within easy walking distance of Port Hercules, so you can immerse yourself in the general splendour and even get a chance to rub shoulders with the glitterati.
If you want to go all out on for your trip and stay in a luxury hotel, then obviously you will be spoilt for choice between some of the most prestigious hotels in the whole Mediterranean region. Notable hotels to check out include:
Hotel Metropole: Located in the Carré d’Or in Monaco, the hotel is a stone’s throw from Casino Square. A classical style hotel with suites decorated by famous interior designer Jacques Garcia, the hotel won first place for The Best Hotel in France and Monaco in the 2018 Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards.
Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo: A truly iconic palace hotel that sits in the heart of Place du Casino, offering guests the magic of staying in such a legendary hotel with Michelin-starred restaurants to the Jewellers’ Courtyard, Opéra Garnier, Casino de Monte-Carlo, Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo and more.
2019 saw the completion of Monaco’s new business and luxury shopping district, where there’s always something exciting to discover. Remember though that Monaco sits on the glamorous French Riviera and is one of the most affluent areas in the world, as well as being blessed with an abundance of natural beauty.
Monaco offers nearly year-round perfect weather, sparkling blue seas and plenty of beautiful beaches, parks and gardens to explore. If you fancy trying your luck then you can release your inner James Bond and try your luck at one of the casinos here. The Casino de Monte Carlo is one of the most famous casinos in the world and was said to have been the setting for the James Bond novel Casino Royale.
Take a tour of the Palais du Prince that sits overlooking Monaco. Dating back to the 13th century when it would have been a Genoese fortress, you can visit the palace when the Prince of Monaco isn’t in residence.
How could we talk about visiting Monoco without mentioning the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix! This famous race takes place here every year in May and the track is made up of the city streets past Boulevard Albert I and past the famous Monte-Carlo Fairmont Hotel.
Have a drink and a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and eating houses lining the Quay Jean Charles Rey that sits on the waterside overlooking the quay, or go all out with a sumptuous meal at the famous Le Louis XV Restaurant.
Monaco is very well known for its fine dining, which is perfectly understandable given the type of clientele that is being catered for here. Some of the most expensive, rare and delicious food in the world can be found here at Monaco’s most famous restaurants, including the Le Louis XV Restaurant and the Joel Robuchon Monte Carlo.
We look forward to seeing you at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2020!.
