Hybrid superyacht: The huge concept boat includes the best of both yacht worlds and includes amenities such as an onboard gym and spa.

A New York-based design practice, Gill Schmid Design, unveiled the details for a new 80 meter, about 262 feet, hybrid concept superyacht in october 2019. The superyacht includes an on-board garage, a salon, and also a whiskey and cigar lounge.

The yacht is called a “hybrid” because it is a cross “between a highly functional Explorer and a super luxurious white boat,” meaning it is both plush and capable of sailing the wide world, reads a prepared statement by Gill Schmid.

The yacht itself has a sleek mirror effect exterior, so that it reflects the surroundings of the sea it sits in, making it stealthily blend in. The boat has a two-tone finish of both pearlescent white and industrial silver. The industrial silver indicates operational areas, while the pearlescent white denotes parts of the yacht for guest and entertainment spaces and accommodation.

The onboard tender garage has been cleverly designed so that it can also be used for entertaining. It has the ability to be completely opened up, which turns the back of the yacht into a 3 levelled party space.

When not being used as a party space, the garage can store a 39-foot limousine tender, four jet skis, and two Triton submarines, all of which can be launched directly from the yacht.

The hybrid yacht also includes a gymnasium, spa and beauty space, and also an outdoor Jacuzzi for perfect relaxation whilst taking in the fresh sea air and spectacular views.

There are 6 VIP guest suites, a master suite and enough space to accomodate a crew of 25.

The boat will be built by German-based Dörries Yachts, and as of yet the build and sale price are undisclosed.
