This luxury yacht, inspired by Jaguar E-Type has a glass-bottomed pool, and that’s not all it has!
When it comes to yachts, the bigger the better. With the sleek and long design of the Project 3073 by Feadship, this mantra holds true. Feadship is a Dutch company that has been yacht building for a very long time, building custom designs from scratch, just like Project 3073.
The 207-feet (63 meters) Project 3073 luxury yacht is the brainchild of the CEO of Feadship, Henk de Vries, and the company’s head of design Tanno Weeda. Initially designed for a client with a desire for a sleek and sporty luxury yacht, the result was an elegant all-aluminium sports yacht with lines exuding length and speed. This luxury yacht also displays an extended deck, inspired by the long bonnet of the Jaguar E-Type, as well as featuring a a glass-bottomed, full size pool above the owners stateroom. This eye-catching pool adds to the ambience, allowing light to penetrate through its floor into the room below. The open connection between the bridge deck wheelhouse and main deck saloon further enhances the allure.
Not only does this powerful luxury yacht resemble a sports car, it can also run like one. Project 3073 can reach speeds of around 30 knots, using a novel propulsion system deploying water jets rather than propellers. For a little bit of perspective, an efficient electric equivalent can reach 20+ knots. You can see a video of both de Vries and Weeda discussing development of a potential sports megayacht here. A luxury yacht that takes inspiration from that of a sports car sounds worthy of an owner whom already owns two Mangusta superyachts.
